The surface of every WAY wooden shaft is coated with multiple protective layers to shield the wood from moisture and warping. This finish is absolutely essential.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES you should sand, polish with fine sandpaper, or use any abrasive materials on the shaft’s surface. Doing so will destroy the protective coating, expose the wood to air and moisture and lead to potential warping.
Any surface modification of the shaft – in any form – will immediately void the warranty.
Specialized Cleaning Method for Wooden Shafts
Unlike carbon shafts, wooden shafts require a gentler care to avoid damaging the protective finish.
